Wube Assefa is the Founder & CEO of MEW Ethiopian Coffee Service LLC, a Virginia-based specialty coffee company dedicated to importing and distributing premium Ethiopian coffee sourced directly from family-owned farms in Ethiopia.
With over 27 years of hospitality experience, including 17 years in Food & Beverage operations at luxury hotels in Washington, D.C., Wube brings extensive expertise in quality standards, customer service, business development, and operational excellence to the specialty coffee industry.
Originally from Ethiopia and a U.S. citizen residing in Virginia for more than three decades, Wube founded MEW Ethiopian Coffee Service LLC with a clear mission: to connect American consumers directly to authentic, high-quality Ethiopian coffee through transparent sourcing and scalable grocery distribution.
Through direct relationships with family-owned coffee farms and exporters in Ethiopia, MEW is committed to maintaining full farm-to-shelf traceability while delivering premium-grade coffee products that meet the standards of major grocery retailers and specialty food markets throughout the United States.
MEW offers retail-ready coffee products in both whole bean and ground formats, Currently launching in Ground Coffee format, with Whole Bean options planned for future expansion.
The company’s long-term vision is to expand the presence of Ethiopian coffee in mainstream American retail channels while creating sustainable opportunities for Ethiopian coffee producers and farming communities.
